Our Commitment
At Convenience-AE, responsible play is not an afterthought — it's woven into every feature of the platform. We genuinely believe that entertainment should feel like freedom, not compulsion. While no real money is ever involved in any aspect of our Platform, we recognise that any form of recreational engagement — when approached without care — can develop into unhealthy patterns. Our commitment is to give you the tools and information to ensure that never happens here.
We were founded in part by Nina Park, our Head of Responsible Play, whose decade of experience in addiction counselling and public health in BC shaped our entire approach to player wellbeing. Every feature — from the Harvest system's natural daily limit to our session reminders and cooling-off options — was designed with the player's long-term health in mind.
Understanding Social Casino Entertainment
Social casino games like those on Convenience-AE are designed exclusively for entertainment. Here is what makes them fundamentally different from real money gambling:
- No real money is ever wagered at any point during gameplay
- Wilderness Tokens have no monetary value and cannot be converted to cash
- You cannot win real money or real-world prizes of any kind
- Tokens are freely provided through the Harvest system — no purchase is ever necessary
- There is no financial risk involved in playing any game on the Platform
These distinctions are important. Social casino games occupy a different category from real money gambling, but they share superficial similarities in game mechanics. We want you to understand and remember this distinction at all times.
Healthy Play Habits
Regardless of whether money is involved, maintaining healthy habits around any form of recreational entertainment is a good practice:
Set Time Limits
Decide in advance how much time you want to spend playing each session. Our Platform includes built-in session reminders that you can configure in your account settings. We recommend no more than one hour of continuous play before taking a break. The wilderness is always there — the retreat can wait while you stretch your legs.
Play for Fun, Not to Escape
The Retreat is a place for enjoyment. If you find yourself turning to the Platform to escape stress, loneliness or difficult emotions, that's worth pausing to reflect on. Entertainment is most rewarding when it adds to a full life, not when it substitutes for one.
Take Breaks
Use our cooling-off feature to set voluntary breaks of 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. During a cooling-off period, you will not be able to log in to the Platform. We honour all cooling-off requests immediately and will not send marketing emails during your chosen period.
Balance With Other Activities
Maintain a balance between playing at The Retreat and other hobbies, social activities and real-world adventures. If the Platform is beginning to crowd out activities you used to enjoy, consider taking a break.
Warning Signs to Watch For
Even in a no-money environment, the following patterns can indicate that a relationship with gaming entertainment is becoming unhealthy:
- Feeling restless or irritable when not able to play
- Spending more time on the Platform than you planned or intended
- Neglecting work, family, relationships or other responsibilities to play
- Using the Platform as a primary way to deal with stress or difficult emotions
- Losing track of time consistently while playing
- Feeling the need to play in secret or hiding your usage from people close to you
If you recognise any of these patterns in yourself, please use our self-exclusion tool or reach out to one of the resources below.
